here's dad's B24 crew. he's the tall one in the back. Pat Barbine to his right was the tail gunner. They remain as brothers til this day, seeing each other almost weekly, but they never talk about those 4 months they spent together in 1944, when their lives each day was a 12 hour flight over southern Europe, and each ones life depended on the other doing his job well. They were kids, dad was 24 years old. The pilot is right in front of my dad.
